Mourners In Huge Numbers Attend Sandra Bland’s Memorial Service

Sandra Bland’s wake and funeral service was kept on Saturday, people in huge numbers attended the services. The funeral for her was held at DuPage African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lisle, Illinois, followed by burial in a nearby cemetery. But her friends and family are still in a state of shock and confusion as they still struggle to understand the reasons of her arrest and death.

They praised her life, however some likewise said they were all still finding it difficult to digest the news as to see how her neglecting to stop at a turn sign exceeded into a physical conflict, that sent her in the cell where higher authorities say she killed herself three days after the incident.

Sandra Bland, 28, was found dead in her jail cell. Harris County, Texas medical examiner’s office determined through an autopsy that she hanged herself with a plastic bag.

The family of the 28-year-old has questioned this finding, as they’re saying she was excited about starting a new job and they find it very hard to believe that she would have taken her own life.

As her family and friends still continue to have doubts and are confused regarding her death The Rev. Theresa Dear told reporters outside the DuPage African Methodist Episcopal Church  that authorities have released documents in support of their conclusion that it really was a suicide.

‘When you are about to start a new job, when you know your family is about to bring the money for your release, when you are an activist and a fighter, you don’t take your own life,’ she said.
