E.coli Fears Forces First Ever Recall of Wegmans Bottled Water

 

Wegmans started recalling some of its bottled water last week due to fears of an E.coli contamination. Specifically, it’s recalling 16.9 ounce bottles of “Wegmans Food You Feel Good About Spring Water” with the labeling “Niagara Bottling LLC.”

If you’ve stoked up any of their water recently, the you’ll want to look for any with these signs on their packaging: 16.9 ounces with a “best by” date between June 10, 2016 to June 18, 2016 and these UPC codes: 16.9 ounce, UPC 7789018860;  16.9 oz, 12-pack, UPC 7789010085; 16.9 oz, 24-pack, UPC 7789028768; 16.9 oz, 35-pack, UPC 7789029365.

According to Wegmans’ recall message to consumers:  “No other sizes or code dates of Wegmans bottled water are affected by this recall.” “This bottled water is treated with a continuous ozonation process, a proven kill step for E.coli. The recall was issued out of an abundance of caution.” “No complaints of injury or illness have been associated with this recall at this time.”
