Over 200 people fell ill smoking synthetic marijuana in the last three weeks otherwise known by its street name spice or K2. This is according to Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
The designer drug was made to copy the effect of marijuana. It’s also known by other names such as herbal incense and potpourri. Two of its deadly effects are by increasing the smokers’ heart rate and blood pressure.
The latest incident lasted for about three weeks unlike previous happenings which usually end for only about four days. The side effects include aside from the two mentioned already are seizures, delusions, destructive attitude, short of breathe and schizophrenia.
On one Saturday alone, the police has to deal with fourteen people who suffered as a result of smoking spice.
Spice is still considered under Texas law until the 1st of September, this early, the police is already starting to go after street dealers.
