NIH suspends experimental drug production

Following the discovery of two contaminated vials in April, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) declared a suspension of its production of experimental drugs for certain research cases.

This development has placed 250 participants in 26 NIH studies  hanging and clueless as to when they would receive their  next  treatment. It is worth noting however, that  the  six patients who received various doses from the original treatment are okay.

Although the NIH has no serious issues to deal with following the experimental drug fiasco,  the Food and Drug Administration is  alerting it  for minor violations of  manufacturing quality practices.
