The suggested global warming had slowed down from 2000 to 2015 caused some stir in the scientific community. Now, an analysis has suggested that the slow down never happened and was simply the results of inaccurate data.
According to US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) researchers, the corrected temperature data shows that temperatures have continued to rise instead of stopping.
Researchers have attempted multiple studies to explain the sudden stop in temperature increase, but there never was a stop. Temperatures rises that were observed in the later of half of the 20th century have continued, with no signs of them stopping anytime soon.
Thomas R. Karl of NOAA and colleagues, in their latest research, were looking for the reason the temperature had apparently stopped increasing since 1998, an event now called the global warming “hiatus.”
However, corrected data sheets taken from over a thousand stations observing the weather, as well as data from buoys at seas and commercial ships, when analyzed, showed that there was never any “hiatus.”
With their new study as a basis, the authors now claim that the statement made by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) –that the global increase in temperature has slowed greatly—is no longer true.
