Animal abuse is no joke, and authorities are backing that up by offering a $6,000 reward in the hope that it’ll help in the capture of the suspect.
You might be wondering what all the commotion is about. It started when Caitlyn, a dog, was sold by her original owners. Last Wednesday, Caitlyn was found with electrical tape constricting her muzzle, dumped in her original owners’ back yards no less. The intentions of the perpetrator are anyone’s guess.
Dogs are supposed to man’s best friend and faithful companion. They are our protectors and source of joy to many. It’s so disheartening when things like these happen.
Don’t worry too much though. She’s no longer in the critical condition she was in when veterinarians first got a look of her. She was also given some surgery in hopes of saving what remained of her tongue,
Hopefully, this inhuman act of animal cruelty won’t go unpunished. If the responsible is found, they will face up to a five year sentence and a $5,000 fine.
Animal abuse is no joke. According to humanesociety.org, in 2007 there were 1,880 cases of animal cruelty reported in the media. Of those cases, dogs suffered the most with 64.5% cases. There were also 337 incidences of cat abuse. The rest involved wither livestock or uncommon pets.
