Machine Wars: Humans won’t survive it, Hawking

Coming from one of the brilliant minds in the planet today, I can feel sweat forming all over my body. The possibility is there and also right now although it only exists in science fiction movies, the possibility is real and the time line isn’t impossible.

Humans have become so complacent building anything that will make their life as comfortable as they can. The exact opposite will happen and then it’s time to bow to the new masters of the Planet Earth: the machines.

Stephen Hawking speaking in in a conference just recently have brought up the topic and nobody was laughing. His discussion about robots and AIs sank deep into the consciousness of his listeners and they now the man is not speaking gibberish. The Zeitgeist conference held in London, where Hawking presented his case was all ears and there the brilliant man told them when expects it to happen: 2115, that’s hundred years from now. None of us will be there to witness this but pity our sons and grandsons when it happens.

“One can imagine such technology outsmarting financial markets, out-inventing human researchers, out-manipulating human leaders, and developing weapons we cannot even understand. Whereas the short-term impact of AI depends on who controls it, the long-term impact depends on whether it can be controlled at all”, he continued.

The creation of Ai would be in no doubt be humans crowning glory if they can do it. It might also their last act of gloryif they’re not careful about it.

Humans’ are notoriously weak and evolves very slowly. Their ability to stand up against robots or AIs is almost nothing.

Hawking presented the audience with several examples such as the innovations in financial markets, the creation of things which are smarter than humans, keeping world leaders reliant on them and under their influence and inventing super weapons can destroy man completely.
