Just a fun fact for those of you who are learning their new MacBook: don’t freak out if it starts going slow sometimes!

Yes, it’s 100% annoying 100% of the time, but most of them can be easily fixed unlike Windows. I switched because of the functionality that Apple offers. There’s free software available on http://WWW.DETOXMACBOOK.COM that will make it run like new again and maintain it :) Just stay on top of that clutter!

It looks like the Surface 3 is a better deal than an iPad Air 2. For US$499 you get 64 Gb with a Surface, but it costs you US$699 for a similar amount of hard disk space. Unfortunately the iPad is not upgradable, while the Surface 3 can add up to 128 Gb via add on memory chips. That US$200 difference is nothing to sneeze at. Also the Surface is digital-ink capable, whereas the iPad is not. That the Surface comes with 1 year of Office 365 and a terabyte of cloud storage just makes the deal that much sweeter.

The only problem is this article is not comparing apples to apples.
The Macbook Air is really what the surface 3 should be compared to. The surface is a good computer, but not a good laptop because its extremely awkward to keep on your lap.
The price on the Surface is not honest, it does not come with the keyboard, so the $699 price for 128GB [who would get the smaller 64GB hard drive]version is really $799 with the keyboard. The Macbook Air on the other hand which starts at $899, has an Intel core i5 processor, which is significantly better than the i3 that comes with the surface and surface pro. Also the PCIe-flash based ssd drive runs much faster than the drive in the surface 3 and surface pro.
Call me old school, but i’m not spending $700 for something that has no keyboard, or $800 for something that still cant be used on my lap.
Surface may be a good machine, but the design is poorly thought out.

Where did you get $699 for 128gb from, thin [ipad] air? It’s 599 for a 128gb. You can add the same crappy keyboard you can get for the iPad, cause guess what, you can add devices through Bluetooth. So all in all, it’s 599 for a 128gb.
