Walsall, a large industrial town in the West Midlands of England, organizes and needs 3,000 women and girls to stride out to help raise £200,000 to help save more lives from the assault of deathly cancer. As we all know, cancers are a large family of diseases that involve abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. There are many kinds of cancers which can cause destruction in both physical and mental activities. It even affects our social life and may bring us to death. .”This year, around 77 people are diagnosed with cancer in the West Midlands,” said Tracey, a beautiful and sophisticated woman that will never give up easily in any circumstances.
Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, inspires women to help beat 200 different types of cancer. Race for Life allows to raise millions of pounds every year that may also gives a great advantage and assistance to doctors, nurses and scientists to advance research to secure the safety of lives of every men, women and children the West Midlands. It doesn’t matter how fit or fast you are because Race for Life is not competitive nor a competition that needs a leading one but it’s about an army of women standing shoulder-to-shoulder, ready to take on cancer and up for any challenge. This are the reasons why we are calling the brave ladies of Walsall to help make this year’s Race for Life be the best race ever had created.
In Walsall, women can take part in a 5k or 10k event at the arboretum bringing fire in their bellies and trainers are all on their feet ready for another event that would take each one of us for a change. To get the message across, a team of volunteers and event managers took Race for Life’s Battle HQ on tour to Civic Square, in Park Street, last Friday (March 6). According to Tracey, “We brought our Battle HQ to Walsall to give women of all ages a chance to experience the power and the passion of Race for Life and to find out what’s in store at our Walsall event in May”. All people from all kinds of places were also invited to take a selfie in the Battle HQ tent to share their ‘fight-face’ photo with family and friends. Shoppers were also given a chance to try bold face paint designs, temporary tattoos and nail art associated with this year’s events.
We are hoping that this will motivate all women of all shapes and sizes to sign up as soon as possible. This is not just a simple and whatever kind of race but we might call it a race to start life be a better one. As what Tracy said, “Race for Life celebrates everyone and honors those who have lost their lives to cancer”. The atmosphere is electric, getting hotter and hotter each day making sparks fly everywhere. We are counting to all women of Walsall and inspiring each one of us to help 2015 marks as a best year ever and a great year to be remembered.
