In Paris, France, March 10, 2015, the Valentino show as part of the Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2015/2016 audience cheered when Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson walk the runway.
When Derek Zoolader and Hansel at the Maison Valentino show, officially announcing the sequel to their beloved 2001comedy, Zoolander. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson strutted their stuff while Ben brought his blue steel suit back to the runway at the Paris Fashion week,
Stiller confirmed the news on Instagram, where he posted a photo of himself and Wilson with the caption, “Apparently Derek and Hansel have come to terms on #Zoolander 2.”
Another Instagram picture from Valentino, showed the pair primping next to Anna Wintour, and even the notoriously staid Vogue editor-in-chief couldn’t keep from cracking the slightest smile.
Rumors about a Zoolander sequel have been swirling for some time now, and with a Deadline reporting last fall that Penelope Cruz had joined the cast. Will Ferrell was also reportedly return as the nefarious designer Mugatu, while Justin Theroux wrote the script. It’s unclear whether Stiller will once again direct.
Zoolander 2 will likely find Derek and Hansel trying to return to the modeling world after a long absence. In 2010 interview with MTV, Stiller said, “In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it’s changed — it just happens so quickly. I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it’s 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves.”
With his numerous production projects, Stiller is set to star alongside with Naomi Watts in Noah BaumBach’s upcoming film, While We’re Young, which will be seen and released on March 27th. The pair play a couple of forty somethings who attempt to stave off the inevitability of old age after befriending a Brooklyn-hipster couple played by Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried.
