Even the vaunted muscle cars that are manufactured by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) are not spared of getting recalled. Slew of car models from various companies have been subject to recalls recently and adding to the list are the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT and Dodge Charger SRT cars.
FCA is set recall more than 2,200 cars due to risk of fire from leaking gas hole seals and the affected cars are 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT and Dodge Charger SRT cars that are built with the powerful 6.2-liter V-8 engines.
The carmaker quipped that the hose seals of the fuel delivery system may seep out and may give rise to gas to enter volatile areas. Fuel within ignition source can be a fire hazard, although FCA stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries or complaints linked to the faulty hose seals.
FCA stated that one of its dealers had noticed of a possible fuel leak and after whipping up an investigation, the carmaker noted that certain hose seals were not properly installed though the supplier had earlier tested the components.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration hasn’t disclosed when will the recall of the cars will begin and hasn’t stated what the dealers will do to resolve the issue.
