The Canadian government has not allowed Chris Brown’s entry to Canada for some “immigration issues”. Disappointed Canadian fans learned about Christ Brown’s cancelled Canada Tour on Twitter that said “The good people of the Canadian government wouldn’t allow me entry. I’ll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!” Brown Tweeted just a few hours before his Montreal show. Live Nation informed CBC News that the two Canadian shows will definitely be cancelled.
The 25 year old singer is supposed to be up on the stage tonight at the Bell Centre and tomorrow at the Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. He even says on Twitter that the shows were both sold out and that he was going to be with Trey Songz and Tyga on both shows.
Brown had several legal troubles over the years. Although it may not be uncommon for celebrities or performers with legal issues to be denied entry into any foreign countries. His most recent offense that had added up to his record was in 2013 when he was arrested in Washington, D.C. for assault.
His 2009 arrest though would be on top of the list as the most featured involving the singer and his girlfriend at that time Rhianna due to a domestic violence case. He was charged with felony assault and pleaded guilty. Brown was on probation since then but was revoked by the judge for violating its term when he was found traveling without permission. He is still going to have a court date on March 20 and could even get to jail.
The shows in Canada were in connection with the R&B singer’s Between the Sheets tour, and will proceed to Rosemont, Illinois on Friday.
Cancellation of the concert in Canada is the fans loss not Chris. Canada is known for being strict about their immigration laws. This is not the first time that celebrities and performers had been stopped from getting entry into the country.
