Japanese automaker Mazda has just taken the wraps of its MX-5 Miata Accessories Concept that puts into limelight plausible custom parts to the delight of the awaiting fans.

Mazda has stated on its press release that the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Accessories Concept features an assortment of custom accessories that are available from the Mazda accessories list such as an aerodynamics kit with a front air dam, rear bumper skirt, side sill extensions and rear lip spoiler.

The sleek car which seats comfortably in a BBS 17-by-7-inch wheels is also tipped to be equipped with Brembo brake kit and carbon fiber luggage rack that is lighter by two pounds. The luggage rack reportedly comes with an en suite center high-mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) since the rack can comfortably be fitted into the trunk and bars the existing CHMSL.

The whole body trimming accessories of the car are clad in black which is the exact opposite of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Accessories Concept which sports a white Ceramic Metallic paint code.

Jim O’Sullivan, Mazda North American Operations President and CEO stated that, “There is so much MX-5 history at the Chicago Auto Show, and we wanted to continue building on that. The MX-5 is the soul of our company, and its enthusiast following both inside and outside of Mazda drives us to keep innovating new ideas for it and the rest of our lineup.”

O’Sullivan also said that, “For our next-generation MX-5, our designers and engineers obsessively focused on heightening the joy that comes with driving our signature sports car… The concept parts and accessories we have showcased at the Chicago Auto Show were developed to give customers a look at what is possible for the new cars to make them truly one-of-a-kind, adding to that excitement.”

The latest trend in the automotive is to get bigger, heftier and beefier, but the MX-5 Miata just did the opposite which is to reduce in size. The automaker said that the MX-5 Miata is shorter by 4.1 inches when compared to its most recent precursor and almost as big as the size of the old 1989 variant. Mazda also said that the MX-5 Miata is also lighter than its latest predecessor by around 150 pounds.
