According to AP Land Rover and Jaguar are set to recall around 104,000 automobiles that are baffled with problems with brakes and lights.
The recalls covers a brake-hose issue that Jaguar Land Rover North America has made a study and eventually dismissed, but only to summon the issue back to life after an accident has been reported last year.
The biggest of the recalls includes more than 74,000 Range Rovers (2006 to 2012 model years) that allegedly have defective front brake hoses that could give rise to the loss of braking fluid, rupture and an increased risk of accident
Jaguar Land Rover North America are set to change the defective brake hoses for no extra charge, although this is not the first time that the aforesaid Range Rovers are being subject to recalls. In 2010, NHTSA had investigated Range Rovers because of brake hose problems but was shelved after one year and a half as there were no reported accidents and injuries. But in November 2014 an accident had been reported and this paved the way for NHTSA to revive the case and eventually issued the notices on the recalls last Friday.
The recalls are set to start on March 13, 2015.
