An amalgam of SUV and standard family car, the crossover vehicle is fast becoming popular. The newly fangled S60 Cross Country vehicle is not just a standard crossover that has the best of each world but also boasts of an assuming looks and grace.
Cross Country has been provided with extra space as its height is 65mm taller than its high-end mid-sized sedan counterpart to give rise to added ground clearance and more comfortable driving position.
The sleek car will be offered with permanent four-wheel while the front-wheel-drive model is cinched to be released later this year.
Volvo has said that the car is beefed with the all-wheel-drive supports to ensure safe and silky smooth driving.
Tame as it is, the car shun away from rough external design features but still very capable and it is the first Volvo that is lavished with Cross Country treatment.
Alain Visser, Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Customer Service quipped,” have identified a clear segment in the market for a more capable saloon with rugged styling cues and a higher stance.”
The S60 Cross Country will appeal to people that are searching for an exciting and capable saloon, whilst enjoying the clear benefits that a crossover offers,” Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Customer Service Alain Visser,said.
The S60 is cinched to become the only high-end European sedan or fastback on the segment that provides all-wheel drive, although car manufacturers such as Mercedes, Audi and BMW have variants that are all four wheels. Nevertheless, the S60, is one of its kind as it has all-wheel-drive with an elevated ride height.
The Volvo S60 Cross Country will be officially unveiled at the Detroit auto show which is slated to unfold on January 13.
