Shortly after the unveiling of the first YotaPhone handset in the lucrative Indian market which is pegged at a price tag of Rs. 23,499 last October, the Russian-based smartphone manufacturer, Yota Devices, is ready to unveil another cool offering which is the YotaPhone 2 (aka YotaPhone 2014) on December 3 in London. The debut of the device will be witnessed by invited participants only.
Yota Devices has made an announcement in Twitter stating that the, “#YotaPhone2 will be presented December 3! We will celebrate with a by-invitation only event in London – stay tuned!.”
The firm had also posted an image of the smartphone with a tweet that highlighted the YotaPhone 2 handset boasting of the same dual-screen (with an E-Ink rear display) like its precursor, but with noticeable curved edges.
The sleek smartphone comes with a touch-sensitive rear screen display, unlike its predecessor Yotaphone which was released in 2013. The handset is energy-efficient as its rear low-power consumption display is cinched to manage many functions at the same rime with relative ease such as receiving and sending calls, emails, text messages, and among others.
Though the smartphone will run on an Android platform, Yota Devices hasn’t disclosed which Android version the new smartphone will go along with.
The dual-screen YotaPhone 2 was launched at MWC 2014 and it is believed that it is way better than the first version in terms of its new hardware and software features.
The handset features a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 4.7-inch E-Ink display that doesn’t turnoff (way bigger than its predecessors’ 4.3-inch screen panel display),
YotaPhone 2 also flaunts a full-HD 5-inch AMOLED front display, 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, 8-MP rear snapper with LED flash, 2-MP front snapper, and decks in 2550mAh battery. The YotaPhone (2014) supports Nano-SIM device, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB 3.0, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS with A-GPS and Glonass, and has seamless NFC connectivity.
