Luxury car producer Ferrari has launched the Ferrari F60 America which is specially built to commemorate the company’s 60th anniversary in the United States.
The handsome, sleek and patriotic Ferrari F60 America is roofless and doesn’t share a single exterior body panel with the coupe.
The F60 which is based on F12 Berlinetta, boasts of a couple of leather clad roll hoops that is made up of carbon fiber polymer that almost extends up to car’s rear.
Though it doesn’t have a permanent roof, the car’s innards can be completely covered from all kinds of elements with a light fabric top. While at this form the F60 can reach a maximum speed of 120 km/h.
The F60 America is projected to be driven by 545kW/690Nm 6.3-litre V12 engine just like the F12. Ferrari avers that the nimble F60 can accelerate to a speed of 100 km/h rate in just 3.1 seconds.

Unfortunately only ten prototypes of F60 will be made and they have all been reserved, tough luck isn’t it. The F60 are allegedly priced at an eye-popping US$2.5 million ($2.9 million). This is seven times more costly than the F12 Berlinetta on which the F60 is based on. The F12 Berlinetta is pegged at a pre-tax price of US$318,888 ($370,000).in the United States.
The F60 America will make its first appearance at a highly anticipated social event in the coming weekend to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Ferrari in the United States. This exclusive event will serve as the final event for Luca di Montezemolo as a CEO.
The company is not new in producing open top version of its F12. During the early part of the year, the company came up with an open top Ferrari F12 TRS for an unidentified client. The TRS features a modified rear and sides and speedster-style windows.
North American Racing Team was responsible for making the distinct body frame of the F60. The cabin is strikingly handsome. The driver’s seat is adorned with red leather, whilst the passenger’s pew sports black leather. Both seats are clad with colors that are present in the American flag.
