The newest variant of Mazda’s 2016 MX-Miata which boasts of SKYACTIV technology and other improvements to the delight of the potential owners will soon be unveiled.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been around for the past 25 years, providing many years of features, innovations and convenience.
The existing model made its debut in 2005 so this implies that it took almost one decade to come up with a new model. The ND Miata had been introduced at a press event that was held in Monterey, California. The new model is surprisingly light as it weights 220 pounds lesser than its predecessor thanks to SKYACTIV technology. Mazda had been able to trim its latest offering by employing aluminum for the trunk lid, hood and bumper (front and rear).
To date, bigger and bigger muscle cars are making their presence felt in the automotive industry but the Miata has been reduced in size by 3 inches in length, the same with the wheelbase which is also had been reduced in size by 0.6 inch in length. Although Miata became lighter and trimmed a little, its passenger capacity is still intact.
When it comes to the engines, however, Mazda still hasn’t minced words about the displacements for the engines, but a quick glance at the top down of the vehicle, it is obvious that SKYACTIV technology has been used. Many experts are speculating that the 2.0-liter unit will appear in the production model.
This is it for the moment folks. The vehicle will soon be introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and full details of the vehicle will soon be released.
