Sleep is pretty important to most of us, and getting a good night’s sleep can be difficult for some. There are a slew of sleep aids out there, and a new one just showed up on Kickstarter called Sense.
The Sense Sleep Tracker system consists of three parts – the sense module, the sense pill, and the app. The Sense module looks like a trendy rubber band ball, but it monitors things while you snooze along with the sleep pill. It’s a pill by name only, as it clips onto your pillow and tracks how much you toss and turn with an accelerometer. The two units keep tabs on your slumber, and when you wake up, you can see what’s going on with the app.
The Sense app will show you anything that was recorded during the night, and it assigns a “sleep score” to let you know how things panned out. The Sense module can record any rumblings it hears, but will also keep an eye on light levels, temperature and other disturbances near the bedside. Just want to relax? That funky module can put out white noise or other soothing sounds to put you to sleep and then wake you up at the perfect time with its Smart Alarm.
The Sense Sleep Tracker is live onKickstarter, and they’ve already blown past their funding goal with 29 days left on the clock. $99 bucks will land you a Sense and the Pill, and if you want to share the love with your significant other, you can get the Sense and two Pills for $129. The first units are scheduled to roll out in November, and it would make a great Christmas gift barring any project or shipping setbacks.
